Melissa is a proven sales strategist with three decades of managing seven-figure budgets and a long track record of mentorship and leadership in the hospitality and wedding industry. She started her wedding industry career in event decor whilst working her full-time hospitality job for two years side by side, before eventually opening her own business and quickly becoming a sought-after vendor for Toronto bespoke weddings and corporate events. At her peak, she has done 150 events in one year with a team of ten under her belt. She has faced her fair share of entrepreneurial hardships during the “big C.” Melissa will tell you she grew too big too fast, and while she has previous corporate Sales, Marketing, Operations, and HR experience, she was so busy working in her business that she did not make time to work ON her business, leading to burnout and mental health challenges. Melissa is the founder of the Peel Women’s Entrepreneur Group (2016-2020) and led many years of networking and pop-up events for women entrepreneurs.

When she’s not working with Wedbiz clients or producing the Canadian Wedding Expo, she still oversees her flower shop and event design company, Lush Flower Boutique and Pure Lush Designs and Co. When Melissa is not working on these passions, she can be found in her pajamas binge-watching TV or exploring the world for more inspiration. Melissa is a spiritual person by nature and is married with three children and three grandchildren.
